Winter - The Beauty Vampire

As the beauty vampire winter approaches in the coming months, i wanted to post a blog about how to fight dry skin. Our skin is stripped of its natural moisture this winter by biting winds, central heat, and low humidity. Even those who never experience dry skin will find their skin dull, experience dry patches or peeling.

Diana’s tips to keep skin glowing this winter:

1. Exfoliate- important all year long

Most people tend to avoid exfoliating when temperatures dip because most of our skin is covered and not exposed during these months. However, it is during these winter months when it extremely important to remove the buildup of dead flaky cells on the skin’s outer layer. This brightens the skin and allows any serums and moisturizers to easily penetrate the skin.

Diana’s #37 face exfoliant ($49.00) This powerful exfoliant cream with spherical micro polymers and an enzymatic complex eliminates dead skin cells and refines texture. Through the use of a mechanical action by gently massaging the face with light circular movements it will brighten dull complexions leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.

Floritene exfoliating and scale remover gel regular use of this gel makes the body much more receptive to daily skin care. It strong enzymes eliminates all particles of dead skin unveiling radiant fresh skin.

(Diana’s winter tip: buy a pair of bath and shower gloves to use with floritene’s body exfoliant to help remove dead skin. Online at the body shop or try any pharmacy store such as rite aid.

2. Microdermabrasion- a winter must

Microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses micro crystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells helping to re-texturize skin revealing younger, healthier looking skin. This procedure also encourages the production of a new underlying layer of skin cells and boosts the production of collagen and elastin. Microdermabrasion also stimulates the flow of blood which carries nutrients that regenerates and repairs the skin.

(Diana’s winter tip: treat yourself to a series of 3 microdermabrasion package $300 or $360) space each microdermabrasion session 2 weeks apart and watch the transformation of you skin. Each session will slough off dull layers of skin leaving the skin radiant, soft, and subtle. Most importantly, by removing these dead layers of skin it will allow any moisturizer or product to deeply penetrate the skin.

3. Add a mask- quench your skin’s thirst

Diana’s recommends adding a step during your winter regiment to seal in much needed moisture while also targeting other concerns such as clogged pores, dullness, or breakouts. Diana’s favorites:
